Bursary Description

Narok county government is set to disburse bursaries worth Ksh12 million to the county’s 30 wards in December, Governor Patrick ole Ntutu has said.

Ntutu termed the amount as historical as it is the highest ever released by the county, adding that he settled on the month to ensure students continue their studies uninterrupted when schools reopen.

“We are going to release bursaries before the end of December. This will help our students to continue with their studies without any challenge,” he observed.

Speaking during his visit at Emurrua Dikirr, the Governor promised that the selection process will be conducted in an open and transparent manner, with orphans to be prioritized.

The Governor also reaffirmed his commitment to improve Early Childhood Development and Education, noting that a number of ECDE centres have been completed and more teachers hired.

“Early childhood education is very important and I am committed to improving this department. We have completed several ECDE centers while others are in various stages of completion,” he said.

Area MP Johanna Ngeno lauded the governor for the ECDE transformation, urging residents to support the county boss.

“The track record of Governor Ntutu speaks for itself. He has transformed basic education and I urge you to fully support him,” he said.

Delayed bursary release and unfair selection of beneficiaries have remained a challenge over the years, with pressure piling on the county government to address the problems once and for all.
