Bursaries are available for students at Postgraduate Diploma, Honours, and Master’s levels at top South African universities. Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for the John Davidson Educational Trust Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Study Programme: You must be enrolled in a Postgraduate Diploma, Honours, or Master’s qualification in Engineering or Accounting in 2025.
- University Enrollment: You must be studying at one of the following universities in South Africa: UCT, WITS, UKZN, or RU.
- Academic Performance: You should have a strong academic record, with a minimum overall average of 60% in your undergraduate degree studies.
- Financial Need: You must demonstrate financial need to be eligible for the bursary.
How to Apply:
Follow these steps to submit your application for the bursary:
- Contact your Postgraduate Financial Aid Department at your university to confirm the application process.
- Write a motivational letter to the Trustees. (Make sure to check the application form for specific guidelines on writing the letter.)
- Prepare your Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Download the Bursary Application Form for 2025 (.pdf) and complete sections 3 to 7.
- Gather the required supporting documents:
- University transcript to date
- Formal fee estimation of your course
- Motivational letter (see page 12 of the application form for guidelines)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Signed Declaration and Consent (page 13 of the application form)
- Submit your completed application and all documents to your Postgraduate Funding Office at your university.
Closing Date for Applications:
- 7 February 2025 (Applications submitted after this date will not be considered, so make sure to apply well before the deadline).
