Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Fellowships 2025 USA (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Fellowship level programs at Duke University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

    Scholarship Benefits:

    • Monthly Living Stipend: A monthly stipend ensures you have ample funds for housing and meals throughout the program.
    • Summer Internship Support: Gain valuable practical experience with a fully funded summer internship, including a stipend to cover your expenses.
    • Academic Conference Funding: Expand your knowledge and network by attending relevant academic conferences with funding provided by the fellowship.
    • Travel Expenses: The fellowship covers your travel costs to and from your home country and your study destination, both at the beginning and end of the program.

    Eligible Nationalities:

    This fellowship is open to international students of all nationalities.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    Who Can Apply to the Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Fellowship?

    This fellowship is for passionate individuals dedicated to peacebuilding! Here’s what you’ll need:

    • A Strong Peace Advocate: Show your commitment through professional work, academic achievements, and community service that promotes international understanding and peace.
    • Proven Leadership Skills: Be a natural leader who inspires and motivates others.
    • Academic Excellence: Hold a bachelor’s degree with a strong GPA (minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale).
    • Relevant Work Experience: Have at least 3 years of relevant full-time work experience (paid or unpaid), ideally more. There’s also a 3-year gap requirement since your most recent degree (undergrad or grad) and the fellowship start date. Students currently enrolled cannot apply.
    • Second Language Proficiency (Preferred): Knowing another language is a plus!
    • Standardized Tests (May Be Waived): The TOEFL or IELTS exams might be required, but both Duke and UNC offer waivers depending on your chosen program. We can help you navigate this! Note: Duke’s MIDP program doesn’t require the GRE, and several programs at UNC have waived the GRE requirement (e.g., Geography, MEITE, Global Studies, Social Work, Public Health). Check program websites or contact us for details.

    Application Procedure:

    The Rotary Peace Fellowships are offered on a world-competitive basis. Each Rotary district may nominate candidates for competition in the worldwide selection process. Up to 130 fellowships for master’s level studies are offered annually at one of five Rotary Peace Centers. Fellows can only be assigned to a center outside of their home country. All Rotary districts are encouraged to recruit qualified candidates in their area to apply for the fellowship.

    At the Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center, Rotary Peace Fellows are supported for the 21-month duration of the academic program. The fellowship includes funding for tuition and other university fees, a monthly stipend for room and board, a contingency fund, funding for conferences and research, summer internship support, and transportation between the fellow’s home and study destination at the start and end of the fellowship period.
