Bursary Description

The DAAD Information Centre Johannesburg, in collaboration with the University of Pretoria, will be hosting the Falling Walls Lab Tshwane at Future Campus Africa UP on July 22, 2024.

The Falling Walls Lab is a prestigious platform that serves as a pitch competition, networking forum, and catalyst for breakthrough ideas. By bringing together a diverse range of students, researchers, and early-career professionals, it fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation on both global and local scales. Selected participants are given three minutes to present their research project, business plan, entrepreneurial or social initiative to peers, a high-caliber jury, and the general public.

The winner of the Falling Walls Lab Tshwane will earn a trip to Berlin to compete in the global finale held in November. They will also have the privilege of attending the prestigious Falling Walls Science Summit, where they can engage with esteemed figures from the realms of science, business, and policymaking.
