We have an amazing opportunity for a Bursary Support Officer to be based in Umhlanga, Durban, Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?
The Bursary Support Officer is responsible for the selection of quality bursary students in order to ensure a successful bursary program. Ensure effective implementation of bursary strategy. To Plan, manage, coordinate, implement and all programmes activities related to student support and student development. To provide structured and Ongoing holistic Support to students with a view to help them to successfully manage the transition into higher education. To ensure proper administration and management of budget, students, institutions and other key stakeholders.

You Bring
- Valid driver’s license with driving experience
- Computer Literate (prior experience using Microsoft suite
- Higher Education Knowledge
- 2-3 years’ work experience.
- Previous Bursary/Academic experience
A Bonus To Have:
- Related Degree/Diploma.
What You’ll Do For The Brand:
- Review bursary applications and select suitable applicants for interview.
- Ensure proper and objective identification and selection process of recipients.
- Manage budget allocations and ensure students are selected accordingly, and timeously.
- Support and advise students throughout their journey with the business.
- Liaise with institutions where necessary to assist students with challenges.
- Building and maintaining relationships with the recipients and relevant institutions.
- Rollout of training with Line Managers with regards to the bursary process.
- Facilitate student vacation work.
- Liaise with Onboarding Specialist for effective onboarding of graduates into the business where applicable.
- Together with Bursary Specialist, identify mentors to assign to bursary students.
- Together with the business, identify opportunities to host students in order to integrate them into the business.
- Facilitate effective communication with the students.
- Participate in and attend related company promotional events where required.
- Administration of the bursary process, utilising the Devman System.
- Relevant and regular reporting.
- Ad hoc related projects and duties.

- Demonstrate a good understanding of betting procedures and betting types.
- Demonstrate good business acumen skills.
- Demonstrate good financial management skills.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Customer service and orientation experience.
- Must be able to identify, analyse, organise, and solve problems.
