The Swartland Municipality Sondeza Afri-Youth Camp is calling for enthusiastic Youth Workers for their 2025 camp! The Sondeza Afri-Youth Camp, celebrating its 20th year, is a fantastic initiative by Swartland Municipality. Every year, it brings together 50 Grade 10 and 11 learners from West Coast secondary schools and even international countries for an unforgettable experience. As a Youth Worker, you’ll be part of the team guiding these young minds, developing your leadership skills, and contributing to vital youth development. It’s an ideal opportunity for students looking to gain practical experience, earn a stipend, and kickstart their careers in education or social work.

Who Can Apply?

  • You need a minimum Grade 12 qualification with experience in youth work after matric.
  • A Degree/Diploma in Education, Social Science, or Youth Work would be a massive advantage.
  • You must be between 22 and 28 years old.
  • You need to be a South African citizen.
  • You must have your own transport to Malmesbury for the compulsory training on 14–15 November 2025.
  • You should be physically fit (a medium fitness level is required).
  • You need to be fluent in English (speak, read, and write).
  • Previous involvement in youth development or community projects is highly recommended.
  • If you’ve participated in Sondeza Youth Camps before, that’s a bonus!
  • You’ll need a Name Clearance Certificate from SAPS with your application/interview (and the final certificate before the camp begins).
  • They are looking for 11 Youth Workers in total (4 Male + 7 Female).

What Does It Cover?

  • **Stipend:** You’ll receive a stipend of R1,200.
  • **Airtime:** Cell phone airtime will be provided.
  • **Accommodation & Meals:** Enjoy free accommodation and delicious meals during the entire camp (2 – 12 December 2025) at Ganzekraal, West Coast!
