Who Can Apply?
Wondering if you qualify for this amazing opportunity? Here’s who Siza Water is looking for:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You need to be from the Siza Water concession area in KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast (specifically between Etete and Zimbali).
- You should either be currently in Matric or have already completed your Matric.
- You must be studying or have been accepted to study full-time at an accredited South African institution (like a University, University of Technology, TVET, Technical College, or any SAQA-approved institution).
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in 2025.
- You also need 65% in the subject relevant to your chosen field of study.
- Your total household income shouldn’t exceed R15,000 per month – this helps ensure the bursary goes to those who need it most.
- Historically disadvantaged students, especially females and Black students (African, Coloured, Indian), will receive preference. Siza Water is committed to empowering a diverse range of talent!
What Does It Cover?
So, what exactly does this bursary take care of? Siza Water wants to make sure you can focus on your studies without financial stress, covering:
- Your tuition fees.
- The costs of your prescribed textbooks.
Good news: the funding is renewable annually for up to 3 years! Just make sure you pass all your subjects each year to keep that support coming.

How to Apply?
Ready to apply? Awesome! Here’s what you need to do and what documents to gather:
Step 1: Get Your Documents in Order
Make sure you have certified copies of these essential documents:
- Your South African ID document/card.
- Your Grade 11 final results and your Matric latest results/certificate.
- If you’re already studying, your most recent academic results.
- Proof of tertiary acceptance for 2026.
- Your parents/guardians’ proof of income (this means 3 months’ recent payslips, an affidavit, or proof of pension/grant).
- A statement of household income and expenses.
- If applicable: a death certificate (if a parent/guardian is deceased).
- If applicable: a divorce certificate.
- If applicable: proof of disability (a doctor’s letter).
- Crucially, proof of residence – an original signed letter from your Local Ward Councillor.
Heads up! Incomplete applications won’t be considered, so double-check everything!
