- You need to be certified in Firefighter 1 & 2, along with Hazmat Awareness and Operations (or equivalent certifications).
- First Aid Level 3 or a Basic Ambulance Course is a must.
- A Code C Driver’s License is required.
- Physical and medical fitness are super important for operational duties.
- You should be able to swim.

- Any previous experience or knowledge in fire and rescue work will definitely give you an edge.
- We’re looking for hardworking, self-disciplined, and reliable individuals.
- If you’ve got at least 3 months of internship experience, that’s a big plus!

What Does It Cover?
This Fire Fighter Internship Programme is designed to give you comprehensive training and support, setting you up for success:
- Stipend: You’ll receive a generous monthly stipend of R8,786.58 (that’s R105,439.00 per year!) to support you through your journey.
- Contract: This is a solid three-year contract, giving you ample time to learn and develop.
- Real-world Duties: You’ll be involved in essential tasks, from responding to emergencies and assisting in fire suppression, to testing equipment, maintaining vehicles, and participating in rescue operations. You’ll learn to protect property, ensure safety on fire scenes, and even handle control room duties – all under expert supervision.
