Who Can Apply?
If you’re looking to dive into the world of engineering, here’s what you need to qualify:
- You must have a Grade 12 / STD 10 / NQF Level 4 equivalent.
- You need a minimum of N2 with four (4) completed subjects OR NCV Level 4 in a relevant trade.
- Be ready for knowledge and psychometric assessments, plus a formal interview.
- You’ll also need to obtain a medical fitness certificate (Red Ticket) and Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS).
Marula Platinum is keen on empowering designated groups, so preference will be given in line with the Employment Equity Act and Marula’s Employment Equity Plan.
What Does It Cover?
This learnership is all about equipping you for success! You’ll be trained in one of these exciting trades:
- Diesel Mechanic
- Boilermaker Plater
- Electrical
- Fitting (including Machining)
During your training, you’ll learn to assist artisans, perform technical work (fixing, replacing, maintaining equipment), master fault diagnosis and problem-solving, and ensure equipment runs smoothly to minimize production losses. You’ll even get to flex your leadership muscles by acting as a supervisor with limited authority!
Plus, you’ll complete all engineering training phases to officially qualify as an artisan, all while adhering to Marula Mine’s safety standards and working effectively with your dedicated coach.
