For School-Based Learner Support Agents:
- You need a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- A recognised Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Community Development Work, or Auxiliary Social Work is a big bonus!
- Currently registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)? Even better!
- You must be aged between 18 and 40 years.
- Applicants should reside close to the schools where they are applying.
For District-Based Learner Support Agents:
- You’ll need a recognised Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Auxiliary Social Work, or Psychology (as recognised by SACA).
- Got at least two years’ experience working with schools or learner support programmes? That’s a huge plus!
- Current SACSSP registration is also an advantage.
- And yep, you also need to be aged between 18 and 40 years.

What Does It Cover?
This incredible opportunity doesn’t just offer a contract; it gives you the chance to gain invaluable work experience, develop critical skills, and make a tangible difference in the lives of young South Africans. As a School-Based Learner Support Agent, you will:
- Support schools in caring for and protecting vulnerable learners.
- Assist with trauma debriefing, case management, and referrals.
- Establish and manage awesome Peer Clubs/Soul Buddyz Clubs.
- Conduct home visits and prepare monthly reports.
- Support community mobilisation and awareness, following the CSTL framework.
As a District-Based Learner Support Agent, you will:
- Implement HIV/AIDS, Life Skills, and Psycho-Social Support (PSS) programmes.
- Supervise and guide School-Based LSAs.
- Collect and record learner data to identify schools that need the most help.
- Collaborate with School-Based Support Teams (SBSTs) and community partners.
- Facilitate peer education and coordinate referral systems.
