UI/UX Designer

 

IDM, South Africa’s largest and multi-award winning debt management company, has developed multiple credit-focused platforms and is continuously exploring new product development. Our small, fast-growing team is looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our team in Cape Town. Your key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Front End Developers and other key stakeholders to brainstorm solutions to challenging problems
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and UI designs that clearly illustrate how the digital products function and look
  • Communicate UI mockups and designs effectively to key stakeholders
  • Create and maintain brand design systems for platform-wide usage
  • Identify UI and UX problems
  • Optimise UX based on user feedback and data learnings
  • Prepare and handoff final assets to developers
  • Bonus skill: Creating original design elements (e.g. illustrations, images, sketches, and tables) according to corporate brand guidelines
  • Bonus skill: planning and conducting user research in a variety of formats, including surveys, remote and in-person user testing

 

Role requirements:

  • A graphic design qualification from a reputable institution or relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Expert knowledge in standard UI/UX software such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Expert knowledge of user-centred design principles and mobile-first design
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Natural problem-solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail while keeping an eye on the big picture
  • Ability to:
    • iterate design solutions efficiently and intelligently
    • effectively work across multiple products
    • function with a high degree of autonomy 
    • work with company brand guidelines
