Team Leader: Data and Analytics
Job Overview
Capitec Bank Ltd is seeking an experienced Team Leader for Data and Analytics to join their team in Stellenbosch.
About the Role
The successful candidate will lead a team of Data Scientists, overseeing the development and implementation of high-stakes machine learning models in production.
Responsibilities
- Lead a squad of Data Scientists, stewarding model design, feature governance, and Model Risk Management grade documentation.
- Partner with RCED, delivery teams, and Branch Ops to ensure batch runs and real-time scoring are healthy and continually improved.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and running high-stakes ML models in production.
- Demonstrable mastery of sequence-type deep learning neural networks.
- Hands-on ownership of batch and real-time scoring.
- Fluency in Python/SQL, model packaging, and service exposure.
Education and Competencies
A master’s degree or higher is required. The ideal candidate will possess strategic thinking, leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, researching, project management, and planning skills.
