SOCIAL WORKER GRADE 1

Job Summary

The Department of Social Development is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for rendering social work services to vulnerable individuals, groups, families, and communities.

Requirements

Formal tertiary qualification in Social Work (e.g., Bachelor of Social Work) that allows professional registration with the SACSSP. Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Social Worker. Skills to challenge structural sources of poverty, inequality, oppression, discrimination, and exclusion.

Duties

Render a social work service with regard to the care, support, protection, and development of vulnerable individuals, groups, families, and communities. Conduct assessments, identify and make recommendations on interventions, support social auxiliary workers, and perform administrative functions.
