SOCIAL WORKER GRADE 1

Job Summary

The Department of Social Development is seeking a Social Worker Grade 1 to join their team at the Dr Fabian & Florence Rebeiro Treatment Centre.

Requirements

A Formal tertiary qualification in Social Work (e.g. Bachelor of Social Work) that allows professional registration with the SACSSP. Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as Social Worker. Skills to challenge structural sources of poverty, inequality, oppression, discrimination and exclusion.

Duties

Render a social work service with regard to the care, support, protection and development of vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities through the relevant programmes. Conduct assessments, identify and make recommendations on interventions, support social auxiliary workers and volunteers, and perform administrative functions.
