Position Summary

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is seeking a Senior Researcher to join the Faculty of Humanities: SARChI Chair: African Diplomacy and Foreign Policy.

Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for conducting research in diplomacy and foreign policy in Africa. Key responsibilities include:

• Initiating and leading research projects in African diplomacy, foreign policy, and international relations.
• Publishing in academic journals and books.
• Supervising postgraduate students.
• Writing proposals for grant-funded research projects.
• Liaising with external partners and disseminating research.
• Reporting to donors.

Minimum Requirements

• A relevant Doctoral degree.
• Five (5) years’ experience in research coordination/management.
• Experience in supervision of postgraduate students.
• Excellent publication record – in diplomacy, foreign policy and/or international relations.
