

Senior Lecturer_ Dept of Social Work & Social Development
The Department of Social Work & Social Development at the University of Cape Town is seeking a qualified Senior Lecturer to join our Criminal Justice Social Work Postgraduate Programme.
Requirements:
- Registered as a Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SASSCP)
- PhD in Social Work with a focus on correctional/prison social work, or probation work and/or forensic social work
- Demonstrable and relevant experience in teaching and research at an accredited institution of higher learning
- Experience in teaching and supervision of Postgraduate students
- Evidence of scholarship and social responsiveness contribution in applied social work in the fields of criminal justice, violence and crime
- Publication(s) in Centre of Higher Education (CHE) accredited peer reviewed journals
Responsibilities:
- Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Research supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Convening undergraduate and postgraduate courses and programmes
- Contributing to departmental, faculty and university administration
- Participating in departmental Research Ethics and Masters/PhD by Research Committees
- Ongoing scholarship and social responsiveness work in their field of expertise
