Job Summary

The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of the Western Cape is seeking a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer/Oral Hygienist. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and training on the clinical platform
• Clinical teaching of undergraduate students
• Under and post-graduate supervision
• Active participation in research and publications
• Administrative duties related to the post
• Rendering services to patients at all platforms serviced by the Faculty of Dentistry
• Participation in Community Engagement activities

Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor of Oral Health degree
• A Masters degree in the field of health sciences or education, relevant to Oral Hygiene
• A minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience in a Higher Education Institution
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• HPCSA registration should include independent practice and the full Oral Hygiene scope of practice
