Job Description

The University of the Free State is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join the Research Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management, financial management, and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for:

• Assisting in preparing institutional cost recovery journals and supporting documents
• Reconciling project financial information in project entities
• Preparing and submitting periodic project management accounts
• Co-ordinating project management activities for consortium agreements
• Assisting the Director of Research Development with reporting and submissions

Inherent Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree or an Advanced Diploma/B.Tech degree/Postgraduate Certificate on NQF level7 or a3-year National Diploma on NQF level6 in Accounting or a closely related field
• A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant working experience in an accounting/audit firm or related to duties and responsibilities
