

Senior Deal Maker

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Manage the entire lifecycle of public sector loans and investment projects in assigned countries, from identification and appraisal to negotiation, approval, and follow-up.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders, building strong relationships with government officials, promoters, companies, local authorities, and financial institutions.
- Actively contribute to developing strategies for public sector operations in line with organizational goals for Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Work closely with internal divisions to share information on activities with private sector counterparts and ensure alignment with broader institutional objectives.
- Help establish and expand business relations to generate new operations and build collaborative networks that enhance the project pipeline.
- Provide expert input into policy implementation, suggesting initiatives for lending/investment operations and improvements to operational processes.
- Prepare regular reports on activities, stakeholder interactions, project pipeline status, and country-specific developments for senior management.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and working groups that extend beyond traditional lending or investment areas.
- Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies on information security and integrity.
- Travel frequently within assigned countries for project oversight and relationship management, with potential for longer-term training abroad.
What You’ll Need (Key Qualifications & Experience)
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related business field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking, finance, or development sectors.
- Financial Skills: Proven proficiency in financial analysis, including credit risk assessment and financial modeling.
- Lending Operations: Comprehensive understanding of processes for administration, control, and monitoring of lending operations.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience managing multi-party stakeholder groups in complex projects.
- Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with regional dynamics, including the economic landscape of Southern Africa.
- Language: Fluency in Portuguese is an essential and mandatory requirement for this role. Only apply if you have professional working proficiency.
