Senior Accountant

Our accounting firm client in Cape Town is looking for a Senior Accountant with solid years of experience from an accounting firm perspective. The position is fully remote, but you must be based in Cape Town as visiting clients from time to time is important.

Minimum Requirements

Matric plus a financial accounting qualification like a degree. Solid experience as an Accountant/Senior Accountant from an accounting firm perspective is required. You must be able to work remotely with little supervision.

Responsibilities

You will have full responsibility for all aspects of clients allocated to you, including:

• Accurate processing of Pastel income statement and balance sheet items
• Monthly journals and reconciliations of all general ledgers
• Maintaining fixed asset registers
• Reconciliation of customer and supplier ledgers
• VAT Reconciliations
• Salary processing, checking, journals, and SARS reconciliations
• Preparation of Financial Statements on Draftworks
• Income tax calculations, form completions, and submission of returns
• General assistance to the Manager as required
• Supervising junior accountants
• Professional communication with colleagues and clients
• CIPC related work

The salary range is R520,000 – R600,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
