Prospect Researcher

The University of Cape Town (UCT) invites applications for the position of Prospect Researcher in the Development and Alumni Department (DAD). This role supports fundraising and engagement efforts through high-quality research on potential donors and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • NQF Level6 qualification with3 years’ relevant desk research experience, or NQF Level5 qualification with5 years’ relevant desk research experience, ideally in fundraising, nonprofit, academic, or corporate settings.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to gather and interpret complex data.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM systems, databases, and research tools.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Resourceful and independent, but comfortable working within the framework of an integrated fundraising program and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to proactively identify and assess potential donors, including wealth, inclination, and alignment with UCT priorities.
  • Prepare biographies and briefs for meetings and events for university executives.
  • Collaborate with fundraisers and the Prospect Development Manager on portfolio management.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in improving CRM data quality and use.
  • Verify donor prospects.

The annual cost of employment for2025, including benefits, is R513345 and R603933.

This is an in-office position, and the successful candidate will be required to report to the office daily.
