Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in control systems, electrical engineering, and instrumentation? A leading company in the engineering sector is looking for a skilled professional to lead complex projects from planning to completion, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, budget, and timeline.
About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of projects within the control systems, electrical engineering, and instrumentation domains. This pivotal role requires a blend of technical expertise, exceptional leadership, and strong organizational skills to deliver successful outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining scope, setting realistic schedules, managing budgets, and allocating resources effectively.
- Lead, motivate, and manage cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Provide expert technical guidance and oversight for all aspects of control systems, electrical engineering, and instrumentation projects.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks to ensure smooth execution and successful delivery.
- Ensure all projects strictly adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality protocols.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management, providing regular updates on project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Monitor project financials rigorously, ensuring adherence to budget and achieving financial targets.
- Maintain thorough project documentation, including detailed progress reports, technical specifications, and change orders.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Instrumentation, or a closely related field. Project Management (PM) certification is highly advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project management, specifically within the control systems, electrical, and instrumentation sectors.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of control systems design, electrical engineering principles, and instrumentation technologies. Familiarity with automation and control systems software (e.g., PLC, SCADA).
- Project Management Expertise: Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills. Proficient in using project management software (e.g., MS Project).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities and a proven track record of solving complex problems and making sound decisions under pressure.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, inspire, and manage project teams.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations, particularly safety protocols and procedures within the Mining sector.
- Contract Management: Knowledge and experience with FIDIC, NEC/ECC, and GCC contracts, including their management.
