The University of the Free State is seeking a Programme Director for Language Practice. This is a contract appointment for five years.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and management of academic programmes in Linguistics and Language Practice, quality management, providing academic and registration advice, and marketing of the programmes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Designing and redesigning the curriculum
• Developing new learning programmes
• Managing the operational plan of the programmes
• Providing general leadership and ensuring academic coherence
• Financial management and allocation of resources
• Motivating and leading employees
• Ensuring compliance with governance, policy, and regulatory frameworks

Inherent Requirements

• A PhD in Linguistics or Language Practice or a closely related field
• A full-time, permanent member of the academic staff of the Department of Linguistics or Language Practice
