Position Summary
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is seeking a Professor/Associate Professor to join the Faculty of Law, Department of Private Law. The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in and support the primary goals and objectives of the Faculty and Department.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supervising postgraduate students, conducting and publishing research, and taking on administrative and committee roles.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Private Law
- Supervising postgraduate students
- Conducting and publishing research in accredited journals
- Taking on administrative and committee roles
- Mentoring emerging staff
- Attracting and sustaining fundraising initiatives
Minimum Requirements
A doctoral degree in Private Law and at least 5 years of lecturing experience are required. A strong publication track record and commitment to research-led teaching are essential.
