Key Requirements

To be considered for this vital role, you must have:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Nursing (Basic R171, R174, or R425 qualification) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional/Registered Nurse.
  • Current registration with SANC as a Professional/Registered Nurse.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, facilitation, coordination, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and information management skills.

Your Responsibilities

As a Professional Nurse, you will be crucial in providing high-quality patient care. Your duties will include:

  • Guiding and supervising the implementation of nursing plans (clinical practice/quality patient care).
  • Implementing quality nursing standards, practices, criteria, and indicators.
  • Practicing nursing and healthcare in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with nursing staff and other stakeholders.
  • Efficiently utilizing human, physical, and material resources.
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of legal and ethical nursing practices.
  • Performing clinical nursing practices and promoting quality nursing care in line with the scope of practice.
  • Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Planning and organizing your own work and that of support personnel.
  • Upholding Batho-Pele Principles and the Patient’s Rights Charter to provide complex nursing care.
  • Acting as a shift leader when required.
  • Participating in training and research activities.
  • Maintaining professional growth, ethical standards, and self-development.
  • Being prepared to work shifts and be rotated as needed.
