Plant Field Operator

Are you an experienced Plant Field Operator looking for a new challenge? We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Umbogintwini, KwaZulu-Natal. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our plant and tank farm.

About the Role

As a Plant Field Operator, you will report directly to the Shift Supervisor. Your main responsibilities will involve controlling and monitoring the daily field operations of the plant, as well as managing the day-to-day activities within the tank farm.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Control all field operations for the plant and tank farm.
• Regularly check plant operating conditions and promptly report any abnormalities or faulty equipment.
• Perform analysis of plant and product samples, and prepare chemical and product batches.
• Assist in preparing plant work clearance permits and monitor contractors working on site.
• Conduct inspections and manage the filling of road tankers and ISO-Tanks.
• Maintain excellent working relationships with all colleagues.
• Step in as a Panel Operator when required.
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping and safety within the field section of the plant.
• Comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards at all times.

What You’ll Need (Minimum Requirements)

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in continuous process chemical or petrochemical plant operations. Your experience and qualifications will determine your entry level:

• Option 1: Matric with NQF4 or higher in Chemical Plant Operation AND a minimum of 10 years working experience in continuous petrochemical/process chemical plant operations (experience in batch plants is not applicable).
• Option 2: Matric with a National N6 Certificate in Chemical Engineering or a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering AND a minimum of 5 years working experience in continuous petrochemical/process chemical plant operations (experience in batch plants is not applicable).
• Option 3: BTech Chemical Engineering AND a minimum of 3 years working experience in continuous petrochemical/process chemical plant operations (experience in batch plants is not applicable).
• It is essential that your experience is specifically from a continuous process chemical plant or continuous petrochemical process plant, not batch operations.
