Pharmacy Supervisor Grade 1
Are you an experienced Pharmacist looking for a leadership role? The Gauteng Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Supervisor Grade 1 to oversee pharmacy operations in the Johannesburg Metro District Health Services.
About the Role
As a Pharmacy Supervisor, you will be responsible for the efficient management of pharmaceutical services, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and policies. This is a critical leadership position focused on promoting rational drug use, managing budgets, and supporting health care education.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of medicines in line with the Public Finance Management Act and National Treasury regulations.
- Provide oversight for inventory management, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Actively promote rational drug use within the facility.
- Manage and monitor the pharmacy’s medicine budget effectively.
- Ensure the pharmacy adheres to relevant legislation and Good Pharmacy Practice standards.
- Support the implementation of the Dablapmeds program and Ideal Clinic prescripts.
- Initiate and participate in health care education for the public and health professionals.
- Register as the responsible pharmacist for a Community Health Centre (CHC) and deliver quality, cost-effective services.
Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
- Registration: Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and proof of annual fee payment.
- Experience: A minimum of four (4) years’ post-registration experience as a pharmacist. Public service experience and pharmacy management experience are advantageous.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of supply chain management, financial management, HR management, and pharmaceutical legislation.
- License: A valid driver’s license is required (exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Skills: Ability to work under pressure, interact effectively with various stakeholders, and be a strong team player.
Salary
R 1,001,349.00 per annum (All-inclusive package)
