PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO DDG: HUMAN SETTLEMENTS PLANNING
Are you an experienced and organised Personal Assistant looking for a challenging role in public service? The Gauteng Department of Human Settlements is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to support the Deputy Director-General (DDG) for Human Settlements Planning.
This is a full-time opportunity based in Johannesburg, offering a competitive annual salary of R325,101.00 plus benefits.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
As a Personal Assistant to the DDG, your duties will include a wide range of administrative and support tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the office:
- Provide comprehensive secretarial support, including managing phone calls, operating office equipment, and recording engagements.
- Effectively manage the DDG’s diary, scheduling appointments and making decisions on meeting requests.
- Deliver administrative support, ensuring efficient information flow, document management, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist with report compilation by gathering inputs, collating data, and preparing progress, monthly, and management reports.
- Manage document filing and clarify instructions on behalf of the Senior Manager.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and procure standard office items like stationery and refreshments.
- Support the DDG with meeting preparations, including scrutinizing documents, compiling necessary materials, taking minutes, communicating decisions, and coordinating logistics.
- Administer budget-related tasks, collecting documents, tracking expenditure, monitoring spending, and alerting the DDG to potential over or under-spending.
- Reconcile BAS reports and assist with drafting memos for fund transfers.
Who We’re Looking For (Requirements)
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric) combined with a Secretarial Diploma or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6, as recognised by SAQA.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing support services to senior management, preferably in a project management environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong time management, organisational, and planning abilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills relevant to office administration.
