Are you an experienced and organised professional looking for a challenging role in the banking sector? A leading international bank, known for providing financial support to businesses and governments in transitioning economies, is seeking a dedicated Office Manager. This full-time, on-site position in Lagos, Nigeria, is being recruited through Robert Walters.
About the Role
As the Office Manager, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bank’s office. You will oversee various administrative functions, from office setup and budget management to HR coordination, IT support, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the setup of new offices, coordinating with local authorities and HQ to ensure compliance with administrative requirements (e.g., visas, accreditation, VAT).
- Manage daily office operations, including maintenance, inventory, equipment, vehicles, and service contracts.
- Act as the HR coordinator, handling staff registration, tracking sick leave, and updating medical insurance.
- Serve as the IT and security coordinator, setting up workstations, assisting with technical issues, and managing local security protocols and continuity plans.
- Prepare and monitor the annual office budget, provide regular financial updates, and ensure proper expense tracking and reporting.
- Manage financial operations, including processing expense claims, reconciling corporate credit cards, handling petty cash, approving payments, and reporting to HQ.
- Oversee and support staff by supervising workloads, tracking overtime, providing training, and contributing to performance reviews.
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Office and bankers, including drafting official correspondence and ensuring high standards of conduct and professionalism.
What You’ll Need
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent experience in relevant administrative/accounting areas.
- Previous local experience in a senior administrative/accounting function (including a supervisory capacity) within an international or leading company is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on a day-to-day basis.
- Strong organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate confidently and assertively.
