National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2024

NERSA Bursary Program Overview:

  • Fields Covered: Masters and PhD degree studies related to NERSA’s regulatory mandate, including the regulation of the electricity, piped-gas, and petroleum pipelines industries.
  • Bursary Coverage: The bursary covers registration fees, tuition fees, and prescribed books. The total value is determined by a financial means test.
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • South African citizenship required.
    • Intending to study a Masters or PhD Degree in 2024 in the specified fields.
    • Accepted to study at a South African University or University of Technology.
    • Strong academic record and potential for academic success.
    • From a previously disadvantaged background.
    • Financial need.
    • Not receiving any other bursary funding.
    • Interest in pursuing a career in the energy sector.
  • Application Process:
    • No application form is required.
    • Submit clear copies of specified documents, including ID, academic record, acceptance letter, dissertation details, motivational letter, and proof of parents or guardians’ ID and income.
