About the Role

As a Millwright, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of various equipment. You’ll work in both workshop and field environments, applying your expertise in mechanical and electrical installations. This role requires someone who can interpret technical drawings, diagnose issues, and perform precise repairs and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fault analysis and problem-solving on assigned equipment.
• Identify, report, and rectify technical issues promptly.
• Manage and maintain the workshop area.
• Rectify defective equipment and tooling as assigned.
• Assist in determining when external suppliers are needed for repairs.
• Develop and implement maintenance plans and checklists for assigned equipment.
• Ensure maintenance is performed at required intervals according to plans.
• Identify and manage spare parts needed for equipment.
• Construct racks, stands, dividers, and other factory installations using various materials.
• Oversee tasks and report progress to the Maintenance Manager.
• Maintain strong communication and relationships with internal staff.
• Log all performed jobs and report tools needed.
• Contact external suppliers when agreed upon to resolve problems.
• Adhere to and enforce all Health & Safety requirements.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in technical areas, stores, workshops, and machines.
• Work safely and report any safety hazards or issues.
• Apply site-specific food safety principles and standards where applicable.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
• Minimum N3 qualification in Millwright trade theory.
• Must be a trade-tested Millwright.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience post trade test.
• Strong grasp of technical drawings, fault finding, and equipment testing.
• Ability to communicate clearly and act decisively.
• High level of emotional intelligence and attention to detail.

Location

This position is based in Ottery, Western Cape.

Salary

The total annual cost-to-company (CTC) for this position is R350,000.
