What You’ll Do as Compliance Manager

As the Manager: Compliance for Personal Banking, you will be instrumental in:

  • Developing and implementing compliance risk management strategies and operational processes in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Managing overall compliance within the Personal Bank division, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements such as Regulation 49 of the Banks Act.
  • Enhancing the compliance culture by staying updated on relevant regulatory requirements and global best practices.
  • Providing expert guidance on new products, initiatives, and business processes to ensure they align with compliance standards.
  • Interpreting and advising business units on applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Identifying, assessing, and monitoring compliance and conduct risks across various business areas.

What You’ll Need (Requirements)

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a dedicated compliance role.
  • Proven experience in the practical application of relevant laws and banking regulations.
  • A strong understanding of legal issues and the ability to interpret legislation within a Retail/Personal banking environment.
  • Exposure to compliance monitoring principles and practices.
  • Experience in implementing compliance risk management frameworks.
  • Strong business knowledge.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing a team.
