Position Summary
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is seeking a Librarian II to support teaching and learning programmes in the Library.
Job Description
The successful candidate will provide leadership in teaching and learning, support objectives for teaching and learning, coordinate information literacy sessions, engage with relevant stakeholders, and participate in professional and academic development.
Responsibilities
- Support collaboration with Librarians and participate in the ongoing evaluation of the Library’s teaching and learning activities.
- Support undertakings in best practices in information literacy.
- Remain current on trends in teaching and learning, emerging resources and pedagogy in support of critical evaluation, experimentation, adoption and improvement of information literacy.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Library and Information Science (LIS), Education, the Social Science, Humanities or a related degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in information service provision in a higher education institute library or in a special/research library.
