

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer: Department of Psychology
The University of the Free State is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer for the Department of Psychology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate modules, providing study guidance, and conducting high-level research.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the academic identity of the department
- Teaching and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Psychology
- Providing study guidance and supervision to postgraduate students
- Conducting high-level research and sustaining quality research outputs
- Participating in community engagement and service-learning initiatives
Inherent Job Requirements
For a Lecturer position:
- A PhD in Psychology (for a permanent appointment) or a Master’s degree in Psychology (for a contract appointment)
- Three years of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist
- Previous teaching or facilitation experience at the tertiary level
For a Senior Lecturer position:
- A PhD in Psychology
- Three years of registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Psychologist
- Proven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Psychology
