Job Overview

The University of the Free State is seeking a qualified Lecturer to join the Department of Mercantile Law in the Faculty of Law. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervising LLB/LLM/LLD/PhD students, and providing quality research outputs.

Requirements

A LLD or PhD in Mercantile Law or related discipline on NQF Level10 is required for a permanent appointment. A Master’s degree in Mercantile Law or related discipline on NQF Level9 is required for a contract appointment, during which a LLD or PhD on NQF Level10 must be obtained.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Teaching and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Supervising LLB/LLM/LLD/PhD students
• Providing quality research outputs
• Participating in community engagement duties where possible
