Job Description

The School of Nursing in the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences at the University of the Western Cape is seeking a Lecturer to coordinate the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP). The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating theory and clinical learning activities, conducting research, and providing academic leadership.

Key Responsibilities

The Lecturer will be responsible for:

• Facilitating theory and clinical learning activities at undergraduate level in the Nursing Extended Curriculum Programme.
• Conducting research and participating in research programmes in the Faculty.
• Undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate supervision.
• Providing academic leadership and administration within the Nursing Extended Curriculum Program.
• Collaborating with the Bachelors of Nursing programme team to ensure alignment with and integration of the Nursing Extended Curriculum Program in the Bachelors of Nursing programme.

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Master’s degree in Nursing or a related Health discipline.
• Experience in ECP teaching and/or clinical supervision.
• Evidence of engagement with research.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse/Midwife/Community Health Nurse/Psychiatric Nurse.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Nurse Educator.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as Assessor and Moderator.
