Job Description

The Department of Social Service Professions in the CHS faculty at the University of the Western Cape is seeking a Lecturer for the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Facilitating learning and teaching at undergraduate level in the Social Work Extended Curriculum Program.
• Conducting research and publishing in the field of Social Work practice and education.
• Undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate supervision.
• Providing academic leadership and administration within the Social Work Extended Curriculum Program.
• Collaborating with the Bachelor of Social Work team to ensure alignment with and integration of the Social Work Extended Curriculum Program in the Bachelor of Social Work programme.

Minimum Requirements

A Master of Social Work degree, or a Master in a related discipline, such as Child and Family Studies, is required. Other requirements include experience in undergraduate learning and teaching, supervision of undergraduate students, and evidence of peer-reviewed publications.
