The University of the Free State is seeking a Lecturer in Curriculum Studies to join its Faculty of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules, participating in research activities, and contributing to curriculum development.
Job Description
The Lecturer will be responsible for:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Curriculum Studies, with a focus on Intermediate Phase teaching.
- Participating in the Work Integrated Learning programme of the faculty.
- Engaging in research activities and producing research outputs in accredited journals.
- Contributing to curriculum development in the field of Education.
- Supervising and providing consultation sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- A relevant Doctoral degree in Curriculum Studies on NQF Level 10, or a relevant Master’s degree with a commitment to obtaining a Doctoral degree within five years.
- A formal teaching qualification with Intermediate Phase Teaching as a major.
- At least five years of relevant working experience in a school environment or higher education.
- Proven experience in delivering poster or oral presentations at academic conferences.
