

Lecturer (Contract appointment: 2 years): Department of Historical and Constructive Theology
The University of the Free State is seeking a Lecturer for the Department of Historical and Constructive Theology. This is a contract appointment for 2 years.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Present undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Church History or Church Polity.
• Conduct research in a relevant field of Church History or Church Polity.
• Publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
• Communicate research findings at scientific conferences.
• Source funding for research from international and national funding organisations.
• Supervise postgraduate students at master’s and PhD levels.
• Participate in leadership and administration at Departmental and Faculty levels.
Inherent Job Requirements:
• A PhD on NQF Level 10 in Church History or Systematic Theology or related discipline.
• Proven experience in delivering poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
• Evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication in accredited journals.
• A good academic record.
