

Internal Assistant II (Residence Life) (P14) (Student Affairs: Student Accommodation) (Re-advert)
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is looking for a dedicated and organised Internal Assistant II to join its Residence Life and Student Accommodation team. This permanent position is based at the Auckland Park Kingsway Campus.
As an Internal Assistant II, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of Residence Life, ensuring a smooth and efficient environment for students and staff. If you have administrative experience and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply!

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Residence Life and the Student Accommodation department.
- Handle mail collection and delivery for Student Affairs staff members.
- Deliver and collect supplies and other physical items for Student Affairs members.
- Assist with routine tasks such as preparing letters and counting materials.
- Help with moving larger or heavier objects when needed.
- Perform various ad hoc manual tasks as required.
- Support the broader Student Affairs and UJ institutional strategies through your work.
What You’ll Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of three (3) years of administrative work experience, especially in an environment involving students.

- Physically capable for tasks involving movement and lifting.
- Excellent at listening and understanding instructions.
- Proficient in reading and writing English.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Good at managing their time effectively.

Helpful Extras (Recommendations)
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of the higher education environment.
- Strong proficiency in the English Language.
