

F&B / Commercial Manager (Mount Amanzi Harties)
Are you an experienced F&B professional with a strong commercial mindset? Mount Amanzi in Hartbeespoort is looking for a dedicated Food & Beverage / Commercial Manager to lead their F&B division. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring profitability, operational efficiency, and high standards within our food and beverage operations.
About the Role
As the F&B / Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the overall financial performance and smooth running of our Food & Beverage department. You’ll manage budgets, negotiate with suppliers, and analyze financial data to drive revenue and control costs. Working closely with our finance and operations teams, you’ll use in-house systems like Oracle Finance and Microsoft Office to streamline processes and report on performance.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will develop, monitor, and control F&B budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. You will lead and support the F&B commercial strategy to boost revenue and profitability. A key part of your role involves collaborating with procurement and suppliers to negotiate contracts, pricing, and quality standards. You’ll use Oracle Finance for cost tracking, budget reconciliation, and financial reporting, and generate regular reports for management using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. You will also oversee inventory control, waste management, and implement cost reduction initiatives. Expect to work with cross-functional teams (F&B, finance, operations) to optimize commercial processes and ensure full compliance with all health & safety, licensing, and hygiene regulations. Additionally, you will support menu development and pricing strategies based on market trends and cost analysis, and conduct detailed variance analysis, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Skills & Qualifications Required
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years’ proven experience in an F&B / Commercial Manager role. You should have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and hands-on experience with Oracle Finance or similar financial management systems. Excellent analytical, commercial, and financial acumen are essential, along with outstanding communication and negotiation abilities. The ideal candidate can thrive under pressure, manage multiple tasks effectively, and demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. A degree or diploma in Business, Hospitality Management, Finance, or a related field is required, as is previous experience in hospitality or a high-volume food service environment. Solid knowledge of cost control, procurement, and inventory systems will be highly beneficial.
