The University of the Free State is seeking a Digital Content Specialist to join its Communication and Marketing team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Communication and Marketing System workflows, publishing content across UFS websites, and contributing to the Content Hub (Newsdesk).

Duties and Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Managing Communication and Marketing System workflows and publishing content across UFS websites.
• Writing, editing, and adapting content for clarity, accuracy, SEO, and accessibility compliance.
• Conducting content audits and ensuring compliance with UFS Digital Content Guidelines and brand standards.
• Supporting User Interface/User Experience (UX/UI) enhancements and assisting with web development adjustments.
• Curating multimedia content for web platforms.
• Monitoring analytics and providing reports with actionable insights.
• Collaborating with faculties, divisions, ICT Services, and external service providers on web projects.

Inherent Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma on NQF Level 7 in Communication, Multimedia, Web Development, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in digital content management, with proven technical, SEO, and digital writing expertise.
