Diagnostic Radiographer Grade 1

The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated and qualified Diagnostic Radiographer Grade 1 to join their team in the Johannesburg Health District. This is an exciting opportunity for newly qualified professionals, with no prior experience required after HPCSA registration. We are looking for 18 individuals to contribute to providing essential radiographic services.

About the Role

As a Diagnostic Radiographer Grade 1, you will play a crucial role in providing 24-hour radiographic services across Community Health Centres (CHCs) and the wider district. You will be part of a stand-by allocation or roster, ensuring continuous care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24-hour radiographic services within CHCs and the District.
  • Participate in stand-by allocations and rosters.
  • Advise management on radiographic policy planning and implementation to improve services.
  • Ensure adherence to Batho Pele Principles, regulated norms, standards, and the Ideal Clinic Realisation and Maintenance framework.
  • Comply with Quality Assurance and other Public Service policies and acts.
  • Manage conflicts and implement corrective measures when needed.
  • Carry out duties as delegated by Departmental Management.
  • Work effectively as a team player within the department and institution/district.
  • Perform and ensure adherence to prescribed Quality Assurance/Control protocols.
  • Perform any additional duties allocated by management.
  • Actively participate in in-service training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking candidates who meet the following essential requirements:

Requirements:

  • Qualification: A National Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Registration: Proof of original registration and current annual registration with the HPCSA as an independent diagnostic radiographer.
  • Experience: No experience is required after registration with the HPCSA as an independent Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Community Service: Must have completed community service as per the requirements of the professional body (where applicable).
  • Skills:
    • Computer skills.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in report writing.
    • Honesty, integrity, and a high work ethic.
    • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of Public Service legislation, policies, and procedures.
    • Knowledge of current Department of Health (DoH) guidelines and policies governing the Health Sector and Radiography profession.
    • Knowledge and relevant experience in radiographic procedures, Quality Control, and record-keeping processes is essential.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to rotate within the district as and when required.

Salary & Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive package of R397,233.00 per annum, plus additional benefits.
