The Department of Health, in a joint appointment with Wits University, is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Dental Specialist (Grade 1/2/3) to join the team at the Wits Oral Health Centre. Salary Package
A competitive inclusive package ranging from R1,341,855.00 – R1,773,222.00 per annum is offered, excluding commuted overtime.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this specialist position, you must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dental Specialist in the relevant discipline (Prosthodontics).
- Current registration with the HPCSA as a Dental Specialist.
- Relevant post-registration experience as a Specialist in the discipline.
- Proven experience in teaching and training undergraduate students.
- Experience in teaching and training postgraduate students after qualifying as a specialist will be a strong advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Implementing, monitoring, and evaluating academic dental services within the Oral Health platform.
- Providing supervisory and administrative oversight for the teaching and training of both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Ensuring quality assurance for teaching, training, and clinical governance.
- Conducting your own research and supervising other research activities.
- Participating in other departmental activities as directed by the Head of Department.
