Are you an experienced Credit Manager looking for a challenging role at a leading South African bank? Capitec Bank is seeking a dedicated Credit Manager to join our team in Sandton. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing credit risk, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the bank’s profitability.

About the Role

As a Credit Manager, your primary goal will be to minimise potential losses from bad debts while maximising business profits. You will achieve this by effectively executing credit application, evaluation, and approval processes, ensuring the highest quality of credit risks across our portfolio. You will also collaborate with various departments within the bank to ensure strict compliance with our risk parameters and strategic goals.

What You’ll Need

Experience

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in credit management:

• Minimum: At least 5 years of Credit Management experience across both Personal and Business markets, holding a current Person-to-holder Credit Mandate.
• Ideal: Experience in Intuitive Credit Granting is highly beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum: A Bachelor’s Degree in Credit Management or Banking.
• Ideal: An Honours Degree in Credit Management or Banking will be a significant advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

Successful candidates will possess a comprehensive understanding of financial principles and excellent analytical abilities:

• Strong business acumen and risk management knowledge.
• In-depth understanding of the National Credit Act (NCA).
• Familiarity with Project Management methodologies and processes.
• Proven People Management and Financial Management skills.
• Commercial thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and numerical reasoning.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
