Job Summary
The University of the Western Cape’s Information and Communication Services (ICS) Department is seeking a Coordinator: Database Administration to manage the University’s databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for senior MSSQL and Oracle DBA’s
- Coordinate daily, weekly, and project-related database activities
- Maintain a central register of active tasks and projects
- Perform first-level monitoring of MSSQL and Oracle databases
- Log and escalate incidents to vendors and management
Minimum Requirements
- Senior certificate with technical certifications in MS SQL or Oracle Database Management and 5+ years of experience as a DBA
- Relevant NQF 7 qualification with technical certifications in MS SQL or Oracle Database Management and 3+ years of experience as a DBA
