What You’ll Do (Purpose of the Role)

  • Lead and manage the Business Centre to drive a proactive sales and service culture.
  • Grow and retain the Business Centre’s client base.
  • Plan and implement effective marketing, sales, and support service strategies for the Centre.
  • Drive overall activity and performance of the Business Centre.

What You’ll Need (Experience & Qualifications)

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 5 years of banking experience, with 3 years specifically in a Business Banking environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years of managerial experience.
  • Significant experience in preparing and motivating Credit applications.
  • Essential experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and sales management.
  • Proven accountability for managing a profitable cost centre.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Finance.

Your Knowledge & Skills

Key Knowledge Areas (Minimum):

  • Strong business knowledge and acumen.
  • Understanding of industry knowledge, business and financial risks, business banking products, pricing, and taxation to optimise profit and minimise loss.
  • People management principles and practices.
  • Financial modelling, activity-based costing, financial analysis (evaluating trends), and complex cash flow cycles.
  • Principles of business economics and the current economic environment.
  • Knowledge of various industry sectors, their risk profiles, and trends (including climatic impact).
  • Managing Local Market (MLM) sales principles for client retention and growth.
  • General banking practices and procedures.
  • Competitor product offerings, channels, and marketing tactics.
  • Credit principles and practices, including applications, securities, and legal entities (companies, CCs, sole proprietorships).
  • Familiarity with FAIS and FICA regulations.
  • Ability to extract and apply information to CRM strategies.
  • General understanding of Business Banking operations, risks, and financial requirements.

Ideal Knowledge Areas:

  • Features, benefits, and value propositions of Capitec’s products/services.
  • Multi-level products and pricing structures.
  • Current taxation laws relevant to customers.
  • Strong knowledge of administration processes for Business Banking transactions.

  • Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Superior planning, organising, and coordination skills.

Important Conditions of Employment

  • You must have a clear criminal and credit record.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
