About the Role

As a Business Banker at Capitec, you will be based in a business centre, focusing on sales and service for a portfolio of business clients. Your main goal will be to retain and grow these client relationships by identifying and implementing valuable, specialised business banking financial product solutions. This includes offering both standard and customised offerings tailored to client needs.

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of banking experience.
  • Proven experience in managing a portfolio of business customers, with a focus on service and financial analysis.
  • Experience in preparing and motivating Credit applications.
  • Background in cost control and sales management.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Commerce or Finance.

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) principles and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, balance sheets, and basic financial ratios.
  • Familiarity with standardised business banking transactional products and core products relevant to small enterprises.
  • Knowledge of business banking product offerings, collateral, and balance sheets.
  • Understanding of multiple legal entities (companies, close corporations, sole proprietorships, etc.) in the business banking market, including legislative restrictions and requirements.
  • Knowledge of Companies and Intellectual Properties Registration Act (CPIC) for documentation/mandate preparation.
  • Awareness of competitors’ offerings.
  • Understanding of Regulations, Acts, and Codes related to the banking environment (e.g., FAIS, FICA).

Ideal Requirements

Experience:

  • 1+ year spent in the Business Banking environment specifically preparing and motivating credit applications.

Qualifications:

  • FAIS accredited as a Key Individual and approved by FSCA.

Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of features, benefits, and value propositions of Capitec’s respective company product/service offerings.
  • Good knowledge of current taxation laws as they apply to customers.
  • Strong understanding of administration processes and procedures pertaining to Business Banking transactions.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must have a clear criminal and credit record.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and Public Holidays.
