Job Description
The University of the Free State is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Applications Frontline Support Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to application-related queries from prospective students via telephone, email, chatbot, and walk-ins.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Applications Frontline Support Officer include:
- Responding to application-related queries from prospective students via telephone, email, chatbot, and walk-ins.
- Assisting in extracting and organising application-related data for basic reporting and trend analysis.
- Assisting in the institution’s participation in school career expos, exhibitions, and parents’ evenings, and ensuring proper event recordkeeping.
- Assisting applicants with navigation support for the online application portal.
- Identifying and reporting system errors or repetitive queries to the supervisor for resolution or escalation.
Inherent Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A bachelor’s degree or a BTech degree on NQF Level 7 in Commerce/Social Sciences/Information systems or Higher Education Administration or a related discipline.
- A minimum of one (1) year’s working experience in a customer service or help desk environment, a student admissions or academic administration role or marketing or outreach activities in an educational setting.
