About the Role

As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the financial health of the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of accounts receivable, from invoicing to cash application and collection, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments owed to the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and process invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
  • Record and reconcile cash receipts, deposits, and other financial transactions.
  • Monitor customer accounts for delayed payments and follow up on overdue invoices via phone, email, or mail.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries and discrepancies related to billing and payments.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and statements, ensuring all transactions are correctly posted.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable records and files.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer issues effectively.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and prepare relevant reports.
  • Adhere to company policies and financial regulations.

Requirements

  • Relevant Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (1-3 years) in an Accounts Receivable or similar accounting role is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective customer interaction.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
